HISTORY OF NGUVIU GIRLS
1. LOCATION
St. Angela-Nguviu Girls’ is situated in Nguviu Sub-Location, Nginda Location, Manyatta Division in Embu North District. It is about 12 Kilometers from Embu town along Embu-Kibugu earth road.
2. STATUS
It is a girls’ triple stream. It’s an extra County School whose catmint is Embu County mainly and a few students from outside the County all the students are boarders. The sponsor is the Diocese of Embu (Catholic) whose Vision & Mission & Goal are clearly stated in the Education Master plan for Catholic schools as follows.

Promote Human Dignity, Academic Excellence and Aesthetic sense according to Gospel values and social teachings of the church.
3. BACKGROUND
The school is on a 12 acre land.
1966:
It was started as a Boarding primary school for girls (currently St. Ursula – neighbour)
1969:
Secondary “harambee” single stream was opened i.e. Form 1 and Form 2 up to K.J.S.E. level.
1973:
Opening of Government Form 1 stream and the harambee stream faced out.
1976:
Re-introduction of harambee stream through the initiative of local coffee growers to cater for locational interests.
1977:
St. Ursula Boarding primary school moved to its present site to give room for the second stream.
1986:
Introduction of the 8:4:4 system of education.
